“I meet millions who tell me that they feel demoralized by the decay around us. Where is the hope? The hope that each of us have is not in who governs us, or what laws are passed, or what great things that we do as a nation. Our hope is in the power of God working through the hearts of people, and that’s where our hope is in this country; that’s where our hope is in life.” Chuck Colsom

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of sinners or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2

Here is what I have learned from listening to the media this week: Protestors who riot, burn buildings and throw deadly projectiles at police, are peaceful. I, being a white person today, must repent of what white people did 150 years ago. Teachers should not return to their classes until their city defunds their police department. All history classes should cease until books and curriculum can match the present day racial theories. Black babies do not matter. Sending out ballots to everyone on a mailing list, dead or alive, will not invite voting fraud. The government can, if it chooses to, curtail religious worship. Kneeling during our national anthem, burning our flag, disrespecting our heritage, are good things. The three and a half years of false allegations and illegal activities against our President should be forgotten. That is in the past. 2 plus 2 does not always equal 4. It might equal 5.

I commented to Barbara the other day: “The whole world has gone crazy. It feels like we are the only ones who have any sanity left, and sometimes I wonder about you.” Thankfully, she laughed. But, you know this is not a laughing matter. At times you may even be tempted to question your sanity, or at least, your ability to know what is true anymore. America is experiencing a seismic shift in the way we think, the way we view reality.

You have every right to be concerned, confused and even shocked. But, it might help you to know that this attack against your thoughts, perspectives and convictions, is not an accident. It is a planned, organized and purposeful strategy. Sociologists would call the process “deconstruction.” Patriots would call it a revolution. It is a deliberate strategy to tear down all of a society’s assumptions, beliefs, morals, institutions and traditions, so that upon that rubble a radically different, totally new civilization can be constructed.

How could this be happening to our beloved country? Do you want the simple answer? Here it is: We are no longer resting upon the wisdom and truth found only in God’s Word. You may call it simplistic. I call it, obvious. Our country was founded upon a belief in God, who is the Creator of all things. He is Real. He is eternal. He is Truth. He is love. He is wisdom. He is righteous. He is good. He is sovereign. He is active. He has purpose. He does not change. We learned about Him and His ways from the Bible, His revelation written in words on paper.

The Bible stands as a Gibraltar, unmoved by every wind that would seeks to blow it down. It is a threat to any power that would seek to dominate and control men and women. To the degree that we have allowed our minds and hearts to be shaped by God’s Word, we reject and react to the various movements of the revolution. Sadly, many of our fellow citizens and even fellow believers have been deceived by this flood of lies. They think they are participants in good and righteous movements, but they fail to see how they are being used and manipulated by covert and evil forces. Tragically, this has happened because we have failed to hide God’s Scriptures in their hearts.

So, my friends, here is the deal. That once comfortable life of Christian fun in a sweet and supporting environment is now officially over. We are up to our ears in spiritual battle. The Enemy is doing his nefarious work hidden behind the powers that are attacking our country today. But, this battle is not just about saving our country. It is still about the salvation of souls. It is still about the Church remaining a strong and uncompromising voice of Truth.

It is still about you and me standing firm, unmoved by the threats against our faith and our joy in Jesus. This will only happen as we regularly get away with Him, praying to Him, around His Word, hearing Him speak, hiding his Truth in our hearts, memorizing and meditating, drawing our living hope from His unfailing promises. The war is here. We cannot hide. No time for whining or whimping. It is still the time for winning, in the power of His Spirit, with the Word of God in our hearts, and the irresistible power of hope in Jesus Christ, our fortress.
